This Sunday, please join us as saxophonist Marshall Keys returns to the jam as our special Monthly Master jazz artist. The Washington CityPaper has named Marshall as a “Best Sax” for the last three years in a row in their annual “Jazzies” — twice for alto, and once for soprano!

This Sunday, vocalist Lena Seikaly returns to the DC Jazz Jam for another stint as our Monthly Master jazz artist, headlining our annual Halloween costume contest jam! Lena has won many accolades, including being named Best Vocalist and Best Composer by the Washington CityPaper’s annual “Jazzies” awards, and she is currently a semi-finalist for the 2015 Thelonious Monk Jazz competition.
Re-hash your Halloween costume (or come up with something new)… the winner of our costume contest will win 2 tickets to the Kennedy Center’s KC Jazz Club!

Come out to the jam this Sunday as sax-man and new transplant to NYC Eljiah Balbed joins us as our Monthly Master jazz artist — wrapping up our October 2015 cavalcade of saxes. Elijah has been a regular at the jam for years and is frequently named among the best (or the best) of the terrific tenor sax players we have in the area. Elijah can also be seen moonlighting on upright bass for a tune here and there.
