Mercedes is a recent transplant to DC and can be seen playing all around town, including with the U.S. Army’s Jazz Ambassadors.

MatthewNiessCome in from the cold this Sunday as trombonist Matthew Niess returns to the jam to continue our February #ChilledtotheBone series, featuring some of the DC area’s terrific trombone players!  Matt is the director of The National Jazz Workshop, president of the Virginia Unit of The Jazz Education Network,  professor of Trombone and director of Brass Studies at The Shenandoah Conservatory, leader of The Capitol Bones, member of the Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra and recently retired from The U.S. Army Blues Jazz Ensemble where he served for 30 years.

Come sit in with Matt and our terrific Fourth Sunday house band!  6:30-9:30pm @ The Brixton (901 U Street NW).  No cover!

herbscott2Please join us this Sunday (1/26/20) as a special house band of the DC Jazz Collective serves as the house band for the jam session before traveling to Bangkok to participate in the Thailand International Jazz Conference.  The band will be Herb Scott (sax), Amy Bormet (keys), Ethan Foote (bass), and Will Stephens (drums).
