Sunday 3/10/19: Sarah Hughes continues our #InstrumentalLadiesofJazz series!

SarahHughes1Come join the jam this Sunday as Monthly Master jazz artist and saxophonist Sarah Hughes headlines the session for week 2 of our month-long #InstrumentalLadiesofJazz series.  Sarah has been a member of the jazz scene since undergrad at Maryland, has a master of music from New England Conservatory, and was a long-time member of the Bohemian Caverns Jazz Orchestra, among many, many other achievements and artistic talents.

Come sit in with Sarah and the rest of our terrific Second Sunday house band!  6:30-9:30pm @ The Brixton (901 U Street NW).  No cover!

ShannonNarrowPlease come out to the DC Jazz Jam this Sunday as trombonist and long-time jam regular Shannon Gunn returns to the jam to kick off our month-long series of #InstrumentalLadiesofJazz.  Notably, Shannon is the founder of the all-female big band Shannon Gunn and the Bullettes, and has been named Best Trombone in the Washington CityPaper’s “Jazzies,” among many other accolades.

Sunday 2/24/19: Singer Anthony Compton closes out our Nat King Cole tribute month!

2/17/19: Vocalist Aaron Myers continues our Nat King Cole 100th birthday celebration!

AaronMyers2Please join us this Sunday as vocalist, entertainer, and activist Aaron Myers returns as guest artist to continue our month-long series of male vocalists in tribute to the late Nat King Cole on his 100th birthday.  Aaron has emceed our anniversary jam for many years, has been named Best Jazz Artist by the CityPaper, and is also a co-founder of the Capitol Hill Jazz Foundation, among many other accolades and achievements.

Come sit in with Aaron and the rest of our terrific Third Sunday house band, including guest drummer Michael Nourafshan.  No cover!  6:30-9:30pm upstairs @ The Brixton (901 U Street NW).
