Please join us Sunday 2/25/24 as trumpeter Al Strong returns to lead the jam session. Al is a two-time Grammy-nominated artist and composer and is another of our amazing, hometown Duke Ellington alums that have joined the jam over the years.

This will also be a special “Jazz Night Out” at Haydee’s for DC-area Fulbright alumni.

Al will be joined by a special 4th Sunday house band of Terry Marshall (keys), Parker Speirs (guitar), Horacio Calvo (bass), and Chris Barrick (drums).

This is just a quick note on THREE THINGS:

  • First, there will be NO JAM this Sunday (2/11/24) because of a popular conflicting event known as the Super Bowl. But you should still come watch the Super Bowl @ Haydee’s!
  • Second, save the date for our next latin jazz jam on 2/18/24:
    • 2/18/24: Latin jazz jam feat. Sam Turner and Jason Walker on latin percussion (+ Roberto Villeda, Bernardo de Leon, Steve Arnold, Julian Berkowitz)
  • Third, we really need to make sure to fill up Haydee’s on Sundays. Please share with Will (dcjazzjam@gmail.com) any contacts you have with alumni groups or other social groups who would like an evening out at the jam session. We can reserve tables upstairs!
