Jazz Piano Songs

For the rest of the summer, DC Jazz Jam is highlighting our outstanding jazz piano players. DC’s bench of jazz piano players is deep! It’s enough to give any other town #PianistEnvy.

Next up in our Pianist Envy series this Sunday (9/22/24) is Bill Heid, one of the old-school deans of the DC jazz community, who can be seen playing everywhere in the DMV from piano karaoke nights, to jam sessions, to swanky private parties. Bill will be joined by a terrific house band of Chris Barrick (vibes), Baghwan Khalsa (bass), and JC Jefferson (drums).

So come sit in with the band and throw your support to a great local joint! 6:30-9:00pm @ Haydee’s (3102 Mount Pleasant Street NW). No cover!

Facebook event here.

…and mark your calendars for the FINAL Pianist Envy series jam next week, with Bobby Jasinski!

4 things…

(1) LABOR DAY WEEKEND BREAK: Just a reminder that there will be NO JAM this Sunday (9/1/24) because of the Labor Day holiday weekend (and the DC Jazz Festival happening down by the Wharf).

(2) ELONGATED #PianistEnvy SERIES: Our #PianistEnvy series is being elongated… it turns out that with our stable of terrific DC-area jazz pianists, we have the stamina to last all the way through the end of September. So mark your calendars for Darius Scott (Sept. 8th), Ryan Hanseler (Sept. 15th), Bill Heid (Sept. 22), and Bobby Jasinski (Sept. 29).

(3) HELP SPREAD THE WORD: In the meantime, we could really use your help spreading the word about DC Jazz Jam. We are trying to increase our mailing list and social media following and make sure folks know to come out to support Haydee’s. If you could take a couple minutes, please invite your friends to…

(4) 15-YEAR ANNIVERSARY: Finally, stay tuned for our 15-year (?!?!) anniversary celebration in October. DC Jazz Jam: Herding “Cats” since 2009!
