MercedesBeckmanNote: No jam on 4/16/23 (karaoke night)!

For our first month of a relaunched jazz jam session, we are going to continue a lineup of outstanding sax players (thanks again to Tedd Baker, Lionel Lyles, Herb Scott, and Elijah Balbed) for a month of much-needed #SaxualHealing.

So come join the jam this Sunday (4/23/23) as Monthly Master jazz artist and saxophonist Mercedes Beckman headlines the session, along with a special house band of Shawn Purcell (guitar), Hope Udobi (keys), Delorean Fullington (bass), and Tyler Leak (drums).

Mercedes came to the DC scene shortly before the pandemic and can be seen playing all around town, including with the U.S. Army’s Jazz Ambassadors.

Elijah BrixtonFor our first month of a relaunched jazz jam session, we are going to continue a lineup of outstanding sax players (thanks again to Tedd Baker, Lionel Lyles, and Herb Scott) for a month of much-needed #SaxualHealing.

So come join the jam this Easter Sunday (4/9/23) as Monthly Master jazz artist and saxophonist Elijah Balbed headlines the session, along with a special house band of Steve Arnold (bass), Simone Baron (keys), Alex Martin (guitar), and Darrel Reddix, Jr. (drums).

Elijah has been a regular at the jam for years and is frequently named among the best (or *the* best) of the terrific tenor sax players we have in the area, and definitely one of the hardest-working players around. Elijah can also be seen moonlighting on upright bass for a tune here and there.

Come sit in with Elijah and the rest of our special Second Sunday house band!  6:30-9:00pm @ Haydee’s (3102 Mount Pleasant Street NW).  No cover!

HiFiveA really cool-looking high five to everyone who came out to Haydee’s for our test run of the jam in March. We did it! Haydee’s agreed to have the jam on a regular basis, doing three Sundays a month, starting this Sunday (April 2).

To kick off the regular jam sessions right, we are going to continue a lineup of outstanding sax players (thanks again to Tedd Baker and Lionel Lyles) for a month of much-needed #SaxualHealing.
